Now before we even start on the Bio, let's figure out.. how the hell did he get the name Bucky?? "I was named after my real father, Charles Henry Davis. His nickname was Bucky. My name is Charles Michael Lasek, but nobody ever calls me that. From the start, my mom called me Bucky, too. I have my checks made out to Bucky. At my bank it’s written on my account so that I can also sign as Bucky, but my driver’s license says Charles. I don’t know why they called my dad "Bucky." I don’t think he had buckteeth." And there you have it..
Anyways, like many skaters now, Bucky started skateboarding after his BMX got stolen. He Growing up on the east coast, in Baltimore, There weren't much things to do. Bucky started skating at the age of 12, after his BMX got stolen. His first trick was definitely the ollie. He learned it in his basement over a 2x4. Bucky kept on practicing hard, and entering local competitions, and trying to get sponsored (he is now sponsored by Bird House Skateboarders, Airwalk, Billabong Clothing, Arnette Sunglasses, Protec Helmets, Independent Trucks). One of his cherished highlites was in 1990. It was when he started riding for Powell. It was a big accomplishment to be a part of Bones Brigade. He stated, "..When I joined the team it was like meeting your heroes." Eventually, he started skating in the X-Games, and won many vert comps. He currently resides in Carlsbad, California with his wife, and two beautiful daughters.
Other Random Info: Bucky is very much into the metal, punk music. His favorite bands include Bad Brains, (Old) Metallica, The Smiths, and Smashing Pumpkins. His favorite food is definitely Maryland Steam Crabs. After all, he did grow up in Baltimore. He loves boxing, and thinks that any athlete who is innovative, and stands out from their competitors (suchs as Kobe Bryant or Mark McGwire), are the kind of athletes that will get far. His favorite vacation spot is Hawaii. His favorite trick to do is the Front side 540.. and the toughest? It's the Forward to Fakie 720.
